Redevelopment Project
& Rain Garden
This project site was located in an area susceptible
to sinkhole formation, within a regulated Water Resource Protection
Area (WRPA), and near key public drinking water supply wells.
Our water resource team worked with the clients' designer to
develop a stormwater management program that utilizes diffuse
recharge stormwater management practices to mitigate the potential
for the development of sinkholes while protecting critical groundwater
recharge volume and quality. On-site stormwater management practices
that were implemented include a large rain garden, and harvesting
and storage of rooftop runoff in underground tanks for irrigation
purposes. This was selected as a Storm Water Solutions Magazine
"Top 10" 2008 Project...see
