Company Sustainable Initiatives

Cumberland Geotechnical Consultants (CGC), located in Carlisle,
Pennsylvania, was founded in 1990 as a full service geotechnical
consulting engineering firm. The company grew to include approximately
20 engineers, scientists, technicians and support staff. The firm
operated an extensive soils, concrete and geosynthetics materials
testing laboratory, and owned and operated their own drill rigs.
From its inception, CGC became heavily involved in solid waste landfill
engineering including design, permitting and construction quality
assurance services, developing a reputation for quality service
and innovative solutions to landfill construction issues, along
with expertise in the applications of clay liners and geosynthetics
in the solid waste industry.
In September, 2007, CGC joined Duffield Associates. The resulting
name of the Carlisle division became Cumberland Geoscience Consultants,
a Division of Duffield Associates. CGC now offers the full range
of Duffield Associates' services including Ecological Services/Permitting,
Environmental Services, Water Resources & Infrastructure, and
Coastal/Waterfront Engineering.
