Changing community demographics have rendered this former golf course/country club obsolete. Eager to transform the 114-acre, former Cavaliers Country Club into a residential community space, Carlino Commercial Development retained Duffield to design plans for the site’s redevelopment. Given the existing on-site lake and beautiful views of the Christina River, Duffield designed areas of residence on the site that maintained green areas near each residential community and a larger, central park for all residents. With this design, Duffield maintained 53 acres of green space on the property. In addition, Duffield repurposed the former Cavaliers Club House to include a mixed use of specialty store, special events venue, and office space for resident and rental staff use. The plan also included the construction of residential street configurations and green infrastructure for access to housing complexes, green spaces, and other property amenities.
