Project Description

For years, Duffield has produced impervious surfaces in upland development where flows are concentrated in natural water courses, such as Mill Creek. These streams did not naturally develop the ability to withstand the erosional forces from the increase volume and velocity of these flows and erode and meander into adjoining properties and structures with devastating outcomes. Structural engineered solutions tend to just move the problems down stream. Duffield’s team of engineers and scientists developed a series of enhanced natural defenses to stabilize vegetation along the streambanks to give them the resilience they need.
