Project Description

The New Jersey Wind Port is a 200+ acre marshalling and manufacturing port facility that is proposed to serve offshore wind projects throughout the region. The project is located along the Delaware River in Salem, NJ, and will be the first purpose-built port for offshore wind on the East Coast. The project will include the construction of a wharf on the Delaware River along with associated dredging to connect the wharf the Delaware River shipping channel. On land, there will be a 30-acre marshalling area for component assembly and staging, a 25-acre component manufacturing site, and infrastructure to support overland heavy haul transport of the manufactured components to the wharf area. Future phases of development will include additional berths, marshalling and manufacturing space. Duffield was brought onto the project design team to implement a significant geotechnical field and laboratory
testing program.
