Duffield provided engineering and construction related services for the development of an 82,000 SF United Parcel Service (UPS) distribution center on a 25-acre parcel along Route 9 in New Castle County, DE. The distribution centerincludes loading docks, parking areas and a remote fuel pump island.Duffield provided exploratory major land development plans and prepared the initial stormwater assessment study for the project. Duffield provided design for the DelDOT entrance plans, and also provided design for stormwater management, site utilities and associated infrastructure, lighting and landscaping. Duffield delineated existing and functioning jurisdictional wetlands and watercourses for the proposed 16” waterline utility crossing under Red Lion Creek.The project site contained tidal wetlands and a watercourse.We prepared applications for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and DNREC to obtain the authorization for the utility crossing Duffield also provided a geotechnical evaluation to evaluate the soils and groundwater conditions at the site and provide recommendations for design and construction of the proposed buildings, stormwater management facilities and site pavements. Duffield is also providing construction review services for this project.
